Pain Relief Massage in Berkshire County, Massachusetts

Personalized Bodywork for Pain, Tension, and Restricted Movement

When discomfort becomes part of your everyday routine, it can influence how you work, rest, exercise, and move. You may notice yourself avoiding certain movements, compensating for a sensitive area, or simply feeling frustrated that your body does not move as comfortably as you would like.

At New Move Massage in Pittsfield, MA, I provide personalized pain relief massage for clients throughout Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and within a 50-mile radius.

My approach begins by listening to what you are experiencing.

Instead of immediately applying a standard massage routine, I want to understand where you feel discomfort, how it affects your movement, and what you hope to get from your session.

From there, I adapt the bodywork to you.

A Therapeutic Approach That Looks Beyond One Sore Spot

Pain and tension do not always exist in isolation.

You might feel discomfort primarily in your neck while also noticing changes in your shoulders. Your back may feel tense after long periods of sitting or standing. You may experience recurring discomfort that changes depending on your activity, workload, stress, or movement.

That is why I take an individualized approach to therapeutic massage and bodywork.

Depending on your needs and comfort, a session may incorporate Thai Massage, myofascial techniques, hot stones, cupping, somatic awareness, cranio-sacral techniques, breathwork, guided exercises, movement, and intentional touch.

I do not use every technique in every appointment. I choose methods according to what you share, what we are working toward, and how your body responds during the session.

Working With Your Body Instead of Forcing Change

When something hurts, it can be tempting to assume that more pressure or more aggressive work will produce a better result.

That is not the philosophy behind New Move Massage.

I believe therapeutic bodywork should work with your body rather than against it. My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe enough to communicate what you are experiencing and where your body has space to respond without being forced toward a particular outcome.

Your comfort and boundaries matter throughout your appointment.

Some sessions may involve focused therapeutic work. Others may benefit from a combination of bodywork, movement, breath, or quieter restorative techniques.

The approach can change because your body can change.

Service

Massage for Chronic Pain and Recurring Tension

Clients may seek massage therapy because they are living with chronic pain, persistent muscular tension, stiffness, or discomfort that repeatedly returns.

Massage may provide supportive care for some people experiencing these concerns, but I do not promise that bodywork will eliminate pain or treat an underlying medical condition.

Instead, I focus on what falls within the scope of personalized massage and bodywork: listening to your experience, working intentionally with areas of tension or discomfort, supporting movement awareness, and providing restorative care.

If you have unexplained, severe, or changing pain, appropriate medical evaluation should come first. Massage therapy can complement your broader approach to caring for your body when it is appropriate for you.

Neck and Shoulder Mobility Support

The neck and shoulders are common areas where discomfort and limited movement can affect daily life.

If these areas are your primary concern, my Move Free Shoulder & Neck Mobility and Recovery Series offers a focused four-week approach with one session each week.

The series may support goals such as improved neck rotation, easier behind-the-back reach, reduced pain levels, increased strength and stability, and better overall movement awareness. Individual results vary.

For more general or focused therapeutic bodywork, New Move Method Bodywork offers 30-, 60-, 75-, and 90-minute sessions. The 30-minute option can be particularly useful when you want a spot treatment concentrated on one area.

Pain Relief Massage That Still Sees the Whole Person

Pain may be the reason you schedule an appointment, but it does not define your entire bodywork experience.

Stress, sleep, daily activity, movement habits, and how connected you feel to your body can all be part of the conversation.

I want you to feel heard rather than treated like a problem that needs to be fixed.

New Move Massage is a woman-owned, inclusive practice welcoming clients of all identities and experience levels. You do not need previous massage or movement experience, and you do not need to know which technique to request.

Tell me what you are experiencing. We can start there.
